I had saved this to read “when I have time,” which is mostly never as you say. I read it on the right day though, as I’m feeling particularly overwhelmed, so you heartened me. The sky part of the sandwich sagging in the middle made me think of some of the cars I’ve owned, where the ceiling begins to sag over time, brushing the top of your hair and making is fuzzy.
You put words to my struggle...I've not been writing because I've been holding up the sky...once again I find comfort in someone reminding me I'm not the only one feeling this way. THANK YOU. And I hope we can see more of each other because we aren't both holding up the sky all the damn time.
This is all marvelous. Gosh, do I love Dolly! Not making the pie, but I'm glad you did. And, hip-hip for you and Mary Ruefle (which auto-correct just turned into refuel and I kinda love!).

I've missed your writing. Here's hoping you steal lots of moments...all that you need😘
Holding up the sky is no simple task, and you described it perfectly. Thank you, from one sky-holder to another.
Go Dolly! And relating to the sandwich metaphor so hard I just might turn into a fossilized Reuben.
So relatable and love the sandwich description.
