Thank you for writing this, I needed to see this today. It’s funny. Many people will criticize the word brave being put to certain situations. Yet, most people who do something brave aren’t thinking they are brave in that moment. It’s not motivating them. “Look at me, I’m so brave.” No, the whole point of bravery or courage is doing the thing because it is the thing that needed to be done, even if you have multiple exit strategies, excuses, etc. And even when we DON’T do the thing we must sometimes- the hardest, bravest thing to do is to not be ruthless with ourselves, to be compassionate and start over, again and again. Cruelty is easy, self forgiveness is hard to do for our mistakes and periods of confusion.
